1. What’s something gross you’ve seen or tasted recently?
That would have to be some personal injury photographs I saw at work relative to one of my cases. I work as an insurance defense legal assistant and some of the cases I work on cross the line of New York’s serious injury threshold (stuff that requires surgery, death and dismemberment, that sort of thing). Usually there are no photos involved, but this case had photos and trust me, they were totally disgusting.
2. What movie this holiday season are you most looking forward to?
I’m looking forward to Les Miserables even though I’ve seen the stage version twice. I’m curious to see how the actors measure up and if the concept of filming a musical “live” will work. I also plan to see The Hobbit – I’m not a Hobbit-head but I do love Martin Freeman and dragons, so I’m sure I’ll enjoy it.
3. What makes one photographer better or worse than another?
A truly talented photographer will find new ways to take photos of ordinary objects.
4. What specific annual part of this holiday season most makes you feel all those positive feelings again?
When people start to light up their houses, I feel the joy of the holidays. I hate waking up when it’s dark and coming home from work in the dark, so I embrace the light. I love the houses that are teetering on the brink of being overdone, and I love red and white lights because they look like peppermint, which is my favorite flavor and fragrance.
5. How do you feel about eggnog?
I like it, but feel extremely guilty about drinking it because it’s just so bad for you. I guess the only healthy way to partake would be to drink Celestial Seasonings eggnog flavored tea, but I can’t convince myself that it would be good. It just seems odd to drink eggnog hot.
I love Christmas lights and egg nog, too! I’m far too lazy to put up lights outside myself, but I will happily enjoy the fruits of everyone else’s labor 🙂 And egg nog…there is one local brand in particular that I like but I haven’t bought any this year. I can’t truly enjoy it, knowing I’m carrying an extra twenty pounds. (Oddly enough, I had no problem enjoying three cookies today. Perhaps it was because they didn’t have a label?)
