Snow Day Stitching

IMG_3458

Ok, so my plan for today was to get a lot of housework done…..so I spent the morning stitching this little guy’s face.  Yeah, so much for priorities.  This robot sampler is a pattern from issue 224 of The World of Cross Stitching, a U.K. based magazine that I recently discovered at Barnes and Noble. In issue 223, there was a preview of the pattern and I stalked my bookstore for a couple of weeks out of sheer determination to get it, as I absolutely adore vintage robots. To my delight, I found the magazine a week ago. I immediately went to Michael’s to get my supplies, and this morning I started stitching. I’m using 18 count Aida Fiddler’s Cloth and the usual DMC threads. What I love most besides the theme of this pattern is the bright colors. I don’t think I’ve stitched anything before that had so many bright primary colors, even with the stitching I’ve done for children. Anyway, I’m sure this will be fun and it’s the first project I’ve started for my apartment in quite a long time. I know my framer has a lot of bold, funky frames and I’m looking forward to picking one out and hanging these cuties in my home.
