52 Weeks of Gratitude – Core Value

I am a what-you-see-is-what-you-get kind of person and my core value is honesty. I don’t play games, and as such, I will always tell you what I think in the most diplomatic way possible. I think the fact that I wear my heart on my sleeves opens me up to disappointment as times when people let me down, but I’d rather assume the best in others. As honest as I try to be, I can detect BS from a mile away and I find it relatively easy to tell when someone is playing me. One of my favorite sayings is “don’t blow smoke up my butt and call it sunshine – I know the difference.” I’m grateful for the ability to share my true self with others and to be able to discern when people are doing the same with me.

  1. Well said! My own core value I have always tried to live up to personally and in business as a psychologist is integrity. Folks used to say of me “you may not like what Brian tells you, but it will always be the truth!”
