A blitz is when the linebackers all rush the quarterback instead of staying with their various assignments for the sole purpose of driving the quarterback into the ground and making him cry for his mommy.  Coach Don Brown, former head coach at UMass and current defensive coordinator at Boston College is a blitzing genius. Bill often jokes that he’d blitz Jesus, and I guess he can now that Notre Dame is in the ACC.
