Author’s Note: I got a little sidetracked with this series, so I am going to get back to it  and will post every Monday like I did at the end of last year.

One of my closest friends is Diane Buscemi. We met when she worked for my husband as a student at UMass and after graduation we kept in touch. As time passed, we thought of each other less as friends and more like sisters, and even though we don’t have a lot of time to spend together, we have remained close over the years. In 2016, Bill and I attended her wedding and in 2017, she asked me to be her daughter’s godmother and we proudly attended little C.J.’s baptism in July. The most distinctive part of our friendship,  is that she’s six years younger than me. For some reason, most of my friends my whole life have been older than me (some significantly so); I can’t explain why that is, but the fact that she’s 37 and I’m 43 is a unique part of our relationship. I thank God every day for her and her family and feel so blessed to have such a close friend to share my life with.
